A promotion needs three controls before it goes live: who sees it, when it runs, and who is allowed to change it. Insider One handles these through campaign configuration, not a separate offer object. The controls you use for a promotion are the controls you use for any campaign.
This article covers how Insider One scopes, schedules, limits, and audits promotions.
This article covers:
Scoping who receives a promotion
Audience selection happens at the campaign's recipient step, using segments built in Insider One. Combine rules across attributes and events with Dynamic Segments, and layer conditions with Nested Segments. To drop groups you do not want to reach, use Exclude a Dynamic Segment.
To hold a promotion back from customers who have opted out of commercial content, target by unsubscribe group. See Standard Segments: Unsubscribe Groups.
Scheduling and campaign status
Campaigns carry a status and a schedule. You can prepare a promotion ahead of time, activate it on a date, and save it without losing its configuration. Campaign listing actions are described in Step-by-Step InOne.
Limiting how often a customer is contacted
Frequency capping limits how many messages a customer receives on a channel in a given period. It is the main guardrail against back-to-back promotions hitting one segment. Configure it in Settings > Advanced Settings, described in Advanced Settings.
Channel-specific caps are covered in Email Channel Frequency Capping and, for mobile, in Delivery and Conversion.
Where a promotion depends on product availability, exclude unavailable products rather than suppressing the whole campaign. See Handle Out-of-Stock Items.
Controlling who can change a campaign
Access is governed by the six InOne roles, with product-level restrictions and PII access set per user. See User Management and Invite a New User.
Group Management separates campaign and analytics visibility by team, so one team's promotions stay out of another team's working view. See Group Management.
For a record of who signed in and when, download Panel Access Logs from Settings > Security. See Security.
What to do next
Promotions are governed through campaign configuration, audience rules, frequency caps, and role-based access. Set your frequency caps and role assignments before a promotional period rather than during one, because both apply from the moment they are saved.
