Personalized Content in Architect Journeys

Prev Next

Providing a rich and relevant experience is crucial in customer engagement strategy. It makes users feel valued, and they will interact more with your messages. Personalized messaging based on dynamic content will bring higher conversion rates than standard messaging.

Personalized content lets you insert attributes and event parameters, making the information more relevant to your users. You can use many information specifics in the content, such as user-specific attributes, product images, links, etc.

You can personalize the content on the following channels in your journeys:

Some strategies may not require the details of their last action (i.e. event parameter) or the latest updated value of an attribute. Instead, they may require an event parameter of the event that was used when a user entered a journey for the first time. Read more on constant event parameters in journeys.

You can contact your Insider One team to create custom user attributes for your account.

You can easily add an existing attribute in the content that will be replaced with its value when you send the message to your users.

When testing any messaging in your journey using the Test Message option, you cannot test any dynamic content as you do not have the value for the attributes on that step.

Web Push

You can customize the following web push elements with dynamic content using default and custom attributes and event parameters:

  • Push icon
  • Title and description
  • Web push link
  • Action button links
  • Rich push image URL

You can use the Fallback fields to add a fallback value for the users who do not have a value for the selected attribute.

App Push

You can customize the following app push elements with dynamic content using attributes:

  • Push title
  • Message
  • Deep link
  • Rich push image URL

To add a fallback value for the users who do not have any value for the selected dynamic content element, you can use the Fallback field.

Email

You can use default and custom attributes, and attributes that are collected for abandoned cart items and browsed items, or the drag and drop editor's Cart Items, Purchased Items and Browsed Items blocks.

Read-to-use Blocks

You can drag and drop the respective block and edit your product container. You can toggle on/off product attributes you want to display in the container.

You can customize your subject line using default and custom attributes. In addition to default and custom attributes, you can use the attributes for abandoned and browsed items to customize your email content.

Customizing your email content, you can use HTML Editor or Drag&Drop Editor to add the following attributes.

Once you add your dynamic content, it will be shown in brackets on your email design. If you want to add a fallback, you should add “|” and the fallback value just before the ending brackets. For example, it will appear like this in your email design:

{{Name}}, you have left items in your cart!

If the user's name is absent, you want to show a simple "Hey" at the beginning of the phrase above. The fallback value will be inserted inside the brackets like this:

{{Name|Hey}}, you have left items in your cart!

Cart Items

Cart Items are special keys for cart abandonment use cases. You can add the abandoned product information in the content to design your email templates. Architect collects the last eight cart items by default.

To populate the abandoned item keys, the Insider One team should enable Cart/Browsed/Purchased Items from Event Parameters for your account. Once enabled, it can eliminate the data sources for the cart items to not consider a particular platform. For example, if selected, the system can only use the mobile events for this data. This will not stop the data collection, but will not consider the unselected sources to display the cart items.
