Content Reuse Across Channels

Prev Next

Each Insider One channel has its own composer, designed for the content that channel can display. An email module contains content built for email clients, while push and OnSite campaigns use different formats and editors. For this reason, Insider One manages content libraries and reusable components separately for each channel.

This article explains what you can reuse within each channel, which resources you can share across channels, and how to keep one visual consistent everywhere. Use it to plan a campaign build without duplicating work.

Reuse content with Email modules

Email modules are available only in the Email Drag & Drop Editor. They are not available in the HTML Editor.

To reuse an element, save it as a module with the Save as module icon. You can then find it in the Modules tab of the editor. Search for a module by name or tag, filter by category, and drag it into other email templates built with the Drag & Drop Editor. The steps and labels in this article apply to the latest Drag & Drop Editor. For setup details, see Save Content Modules for Emails.

Turn on Synchronized when you want every template to use the same source module. Synchronized modules apply to promotional emails, including Architect journeys. To enable this feature for your panel, create a support ticket. For details, see Synchronize Email Modules.

When you edit a synchronized module in an email template, you can choose one of three actions:

  • Save changes to module: Updates the source module and applies the changes to other eligible email templates that use it.

  • Revert changes: Discards your edits and restores the last saved version of the module.

  • Unlink and apply changes locally: Disconnects the module from its source and keeps your changes only in the current template.

Changes synchronize only when you select Save changes to module. If you close the editor without selecting it, your changes stay in the current email template, and other templates that use the module remain unchanged.

Synchronization updates templates in Draft, Scheduled, and Paused campaigns. It does not update Completed or Running campaigns. Display conditions are not supported while a synchronized module is active.

Reuse images in OnSite and Web Templates

In Action Builder, you add images through the Add Image dialog:

  • Image Library: Select a ready-to-use image without uploading your own file.

  • Image Upload: Upload your own file or provide a source URL.

For fast page loads, keep image files, including GIFs, at 500 KB or smaller in Web products. For details, see Add an Image via Image Library.

Use App Template From Push to link an app template to a Standard, Recurring, Conversion, or Geofence App Push campaign. This links two campaign objects. For details, see FAQ about App Template from Push.

Use resources across channels

Some resources keep content consistent across email, push, and OnSite campaigns:

  • User attributes and supported dynamic content

  • Images referenced through a stable catalog or CDN URL

  • Audiences, segments, and journey logic that coordinate your campaigns

Know what stays channel-specific

  • Email modules, including synchronized modules, work only in the Email Drag & Drop Editor.

  • Image stores are separate. Email has a personal image gallery, Action Builder has the Image Library, and push campaigns support their own uploads and image URLs.

Use one visual across channels

Host the image at a stable catalog or CDN URL, then reference that URL in:

  • An image element in an email

  • The source URL field in the Action Builder Image Upload tab

  • A supported dynamic image field in a push campaign

All three channels then use the same hosted asset. When you replace the file at that URL, the channels that reference it use the updated image. This does not create a shared content block, so each channel still controls its own layout, text, and campaign configuration.

Plan your build around what each channel offers: email modules for repeatable email layouts, the Image Library for OnSite images, and a shared URL for visuals that appear in every channel. To start, save your first element as a module in the Email Drag & Drop Editor.
