Will users who do not confirm double opt-in receive email messages from my campaigns?

It depends on your default opt-in setting in Email Settings.

  • With Double Opt-in selected, only confirmed contacts receive campaign emails.

  • With Single Opt-in selected, contacts may receive campaign emails without having to confirm.

To limit delivery to confirmed subscribers, set the default opt-in to Double Opt-in.

Are double opt-in emails delivered to users with no opt-in status?

Yes, double opt-in emails are classified as transactional emails. This means that they will go to users' inboxes regardless of their email opt-in status. That's why double opt-in emails within an Architect scenario will be delivered to users without consideration of their opt-in status.

Can I send promotional content in double opt-in emails?

No, the double opt-in emails should not contain any promotional content.

Can I send double opt-in emails without an Architect flow?

If there is no relevant Architect flow, you won’t be able to deliver the double opt-in emails. If the double opt-in checkbox is not checked in the Design step of your email, then you won't be able to send double opt-in emails.

Also, if you do not mark the Lead Collection double opt-in checkbox, you won't be able to send double opt-in emails.

The double opt-in users are stored in a separate database, where their timestamps and IP addresses are logged in case any justification is needed.

Your template must include a Double-Opt-in tag, allowing users to opt in to your campaigns.

What happens when a user is unsubscribed from an email campaign?

When a user unsubscribes, the Email Double Optin attribute on their profile is automatically set to false. This does not impact the account or affect product usage in any way; it simply reflects the user’s updated subscription status.
