You can bring survey responses and customer feedback into Insider One and use them for segmentation, journey decisions, and personalization. Insider One provides a ready-made integration for SurveyMonkey. For other survey and feedback tools, such as Forsta, you can import the same kind of data through Insider One's standard import channels: the Upsert User Data API, FTP/SFTP, or Amazon S3.
Apart from SurveyMonkey, this guide describes an integration through Insider One's standard APIs and file import channels. It does not describe a native connector for Forsta or other survey and feedback tools. Your team or integration provider builds and operates the process that reads responses from your survey tool and delivers them to the selected channel.
If you use SurveyMonkey
InOne includes a SurveyMonkey integration that retrieves new survey responses on a schedule and syncs them to Insider One as user attributes, events, or both. For setup, see Send SurveyMonkey Data to Insider One.
If you use another survey or feedback tool
Before you choose a channel, decide what each response should become in Insider One:
User identifier: The value that matches a response to an Insider One user, typically the respondent's email address. Anonymous responses cannot be matched to a profile.
Attributes: Values you want to keep on the profile, for example, the latest satisfaction or Net Promoter Score (NPS) value.
Events: Things that happened at a point in time, for example, a survey completed, with the answers you need as event parameters.
Choose your import channel
Channel | When to use it | How it works |
|---|---|---|
Ongoing updates as responses come in | Your integration job reads responses from your survey tool, maps them to API payloads, and sends requests to Insider One. | |
Scheduled bulk file imports | Your integration job publishes CSV or TSV files to your file server. InOne reads the files on the configured schedule. | |
Batch imports when your data pipeline uses AWS | Your integration job uploads CSV or JSONL files to your S3 bucket. Insider One imports new files through the configured notification flow. |
Set it up
Plan the user data you will send and get the plan approved by the Insider One team.
Export or retrieve the responses from your survey tool through a method that the tool supports.
Transform the responses into the format the selected channel requires: API payloads for the Upsert User Data API, CSV or TSV files for FTP/SFTP, or CSV or JSONL files for Amazon S3.
Configure the Insider One side of the channel by following its guide: Upsert User Data API Integration Wizard, Import Data from FTP/SFTP to InOne, or Import Data from Amazon S3.
Test the mapping with a small sample before you run the import on a schedule.
To set up the FTP/SFTP or Amazon S3 source integrations in InOne, you need an Administrator or an Editor with PII access role. To generate an API key for the Upsert User Data API, you need an Administrator role.
