Call an API enables you to connect an outsource platform to your journeys to take any action with your contacts. For example, you can use this element for your CRM or call center actions. If you have an outsourced SMS provider, you can use this element to connect it to your journeys to send SMS.

To add any outsource provider to your journeys, implement the Call an API element.

Suppose you plan to send your users any messages (e.g., SMS, email, etc.) via the Call an API element. In that case, you need to pass the respective consent information of the user (e.g. sms_optin, email_optin, etc.) to Insider following the respective integrations.

Upon completing these steps, you can use the Call an API element to target your users on the outsource platforms as follows:

You can use default and custom attributes, event parameters, and cart/browsed/purchased items as dynamic content in your message.
