Architect enables you to design smart journeys to reach the right users. You can use the Check Reachability element before adding the SMS element to understand which users are eligible to receive an SMS message. To ensure you don’t lose users in the flow, you can also take other actions with users or send them messages via different channels.
There are many SMS-related laws and regulations in various countries. For instance, one specifies that you can’t send SMS messages during so-called "white hours." For example, in some countries, you are not allowed to send a text message between 10 pm and 8 am. To prevent this from happening, you can use the Wait Until a Time Slot element before the "SMS" element.
Opt-out and opt-in processes are crucial in the SMS world, with authorized institutions performing ongoing audits. Make sure you comply with the country's rules and regulations when sending your SMS.
Keep in mind that SMS message content can’t have any of the following characteristics:
- It cannot violate any law or regulation.
- It cannot be deliberately deceiving.
- It must not contain sexually explicit or pornographic content.
- In some regions, special regulations apply to commercial gambling-related content.
- In some cases, pre-registration of the sender ID (‘From’) is required.
- For some destinations, the authorities must pre-approve the entire content template.
