WhatsApp Silent Hours

Prev Next

Silent Hours prevent WhatsApp messages from being delivered during a set time range, such as late at night or early morning, when messages can disrupt users or fall under legal restrictions.

Silent Hours are available for automated (interactive) WhatsApp campaigns, such as Trigger and Cart Reminder WhatsApp Message Campaigns.

Silent Hours are unavailable for Single Message or Purchase Confirmation campaigns.

Why use Silent Hours?

  • Avoid disturbing users at inconvenient times, such as 3 am.

  • Comply with regulations in countries that restrict or penalize messaging during certain hours.

  • Protect the user experience and reduce opt-out and block risk.

Set Silent Hours

You can configure Silent Hours in the Launch step of your automated WhatsApp campaign.

  1. Enable Silent Hours in the Launch step.

  2. Define a restricted time range, such as 22:00–08:00.

  3. Messages that fall within this window are held and delivered once the window ends. No WhatsApp messages go out during the restricted range.

Time zone

WhatsApp Silent Hours use your account’s time zone, not each recipient's local time zone. The campaign setup screen shows an informational time zone message so you can confirm which time zone applies to the restricted range. Keep this in mind when setting your range if your audience spans multiple regions.
