Static Segment Upload Guide

Prev Next

On the Static Segment Upload page, you complete the integration of user data through a Static Segment Upload by uploading a user list in CSV format. This method allows you to define a fixed audience based on selected attributes and use it across Insider’s products for targeted campaigns and engagement.

The Static Segment Upload step within the Onboarding Center serves as a checkpoint. The actual file upload and segment creation takes place in the Static Segments, where you will be guided through the full process.

Integration Overview

Static Segments are predefined user groups that remain unchanged until a new file is uploaded. They are ideal for one-time or periodic targeting of known user cohorts and are particularly useful when working with externally defined audiences.

Once uploaded, Static Segments become available for use across campaigns, personalization, and reporting. You can maintain engagement with these users by updating or reusing the same segment structure as needed.

Step 1: View and download user data list

Before starting the upload process, review the list of user attributes selected for CSV integration during the User Data Planning step.

  • Download Data List: This file contains the required attributes for creating the Static Segment.

  • Ensure that your CSV file includes all listed attributes and adheres to the required naming and formatting conventions.

Step 2: Integrate your CSV data using Static Segment upload

To upload your Static Segment:

  1. Click Go to Static Segments to access the segment creation page.

  2. Click Create to begin.

  3. Enter a segment name, select Static Segments, and click Next.

  4. Follow the guided steps to upload your CSV file and configure the segment.

  5. Ensure your file includes all user attributes from the downloaded list to complete the process successfully.

Step 3: Confirm completion

After uploading your static segment, confirm its completion on this page.

Check the “I confirm that my Static Segment Upload is complete.” box to acknowledge that you have successfully uploaded your Static Segment and included all required user attributes.

This checkbox is for self-confirmation only. It does not perform technical validation. Its purpose is to help you track progress and move confidently through the onboarding steps.
