After creating and testing an assistant version, you can publish it to a connected channel immediately or schedule it to become active later.
How assistant version activation works
Each deployment connects an assistant version to a channel. You can select one of the following activation options:
Launch: The selected assistant version becomes active on the channel immediately.
Schedule: The selected assistant version becomes active on the channel at the date and time you define.
If another assistant version is already active on the selected channel, the scheduled version replaces it at the scheduled activation time. The current version remains active until then.
Benefits of scheduling an assistant version
You can schedule an assistant version to:
Prepare, test, and review an assistant version before releasing it.
Coordinate assistant updates with campaigns, promotions, product launches, or seasonal changes.
Activate a version outside working hours without publishing it manually at that time.
Plan channel updates in advance while keeping the current version active until the scheduled activation.
Schedule an assistant version
To schedule an assistant version:
Open the assistant that you want to publish.
Click Publish in the upper right corner.
Open the Assistant Variants tab.
Create an assistant variant.
Select Schedule.
Select the channel on which the version should become active.
Select the assistant version that you want to activate.
Configure the required assistant parameters and rating settings.
Select the Start Date and Start Time.
Check the displayed time zone to make sure the scheduled time is correct.
Click Schedule.
Review the scheduling details and confirm the action.
You can select a date up to 120 days in advance. Available start times use 15-minute intervals.
Confirm the scheduled activation
After you confirm the schedule:
A success message displays the scheduled date, time, time zone, and channel.
The assistant variant appears with a Scheduled label.
The planned activation date and time appear in the deployment details.
The selected assistant version automatically becomes active on the channel at the scheduled time.
Check the scheduled status, date, time, and time zone to confirm the activation is configured correctly.
Cancel a scheduled activation
To prevent a scheduled assistant version from becoming active, delete the scheduled assistant variant before its activation time.
Scheduling limits
The following limits apply to assistant variants that are waiting for scheduled activation:
You can have up to 3 scheduled assistant variants for the same channel.
Each user can create up to 5 scheduled assistant variants within a company.
A company can have up to 10 scheduled assistant variants across all users and assistants.
A company can schedule up to 15 assistant variant activations for the same day.
You cannot schedule more than one assistant variant for the same channel at the same date and time.
If you reach one of these limits, cancel an existing scheduled activation before creating a new one.
