Before starting the integration, you can read about Email in Architect.

To send email campaigns to your users in your journeys, you need to complete the following requirements:

1. Email Channel Setup

To start sending emails within Architect, you need to first complete your Email Channel Setup. To set up your email channel, you will need to answer discovery questions for the Insider One team to understand your email sending needs, choose your IP type (shared/ dedicated), define your sender domains and configure the DNS records for these sender domains, and finally define your sender addresses.

Afterwards, you can complete the remaining steps of the email setup wizard:

  • Configure Link Branding (recommended)
  • Complete the Unsubscription Management step
  • Create warm-up plans for your sender domains

2. Opt-In Information

You must pass users' email addresses, GDPR opt-ins, and email (marketing) opt-ins to Insider One. You can share this data with Insider One using one of the following methods:

If your company obtains your users' consent in compliance with the local regulations, make sure to pass the GDPR opt-in field to Insider One. If you want to stop collecting and processing the data of an identified user, GDPR opt-in field should have the false value. Insider One cannot be held liable if these obligations are not fulfilled and reserves the right to seek compensation from your company.

You can also use Insider One's Lead Collection templates to collect users' email addresses and opt-in information as an alternative to these integration methods.

3. URL Parameter Separator

The Insider One team will select one of the URL parameter separators for your account's email options, tailoring the setting to your specific technical requirements. Depending on your email environment, one of the following separators will be implemented:

  • & (Standard Ampersand): The industry-standard separator used for your web URLs and UTM parameters.
  • ; (Email-Safe Semicolon): An alternative designed to prevent email clients from rewriting your links (e.g., converting & into &) within HTML or AMP email templates, ensuring your URL integrity.

4. Data Collection

The Insider One team will enable data collection for your account.

5. Cart Item Collection & Browsed Item Collection

Insider will enable Cart Item Collection and/or Browsed Item Collection if you want to run cart and/or browse abandonment journeys. You can also use purchase and wishlist items.

6. IP Warm-Up

The IP warm-up process is essential for establishing a healthy sender reputation and ensuring high deliverability. Depending on your email usage, this process is managed in two ways:

  • For Architect Email: You must complete the IP warm-up process initiated through the Email Setup Wizard. Once the setup is finalized, the Insider One team will enable the Email IP Warm-Up for your account.
  • For Bulk Email: Customers using bulk messaging manage the warm-up process directly within their Bulk Email campaigns.

The On Past Behavior starter in journeys enables you to target large audiences, from 50,000 to 10,000,000 users. However, to protect your sender IP reputation and ensure high deliverability, the email channel will remain unavailable for use with this starter until a proper IP warm-up process is completed and enabled for your account.
