Ad Audiences sync your Dynamic Segments directly with advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Facebook (Meta) Ads, and TikTok Ads, as ad-platform audiences. It replaces the previous Remarketing functionality with improved performance, flexibility, and usability.
Once a segment is synced, it stays aligned automatically. Every day at 00:00 UTC, users who entered the segment are added to the ad platform audience, and users who exited are removed, so your ad audiences match segment membership without manual updates. All user identifiers, email, phone, and any optional attributes are hashed with SHA-256 before transmission.
By syncing Dynamic Segments this way, you can deliver personalized ads across channels and run more efficient, behavior-driven remarketing campaigns.
What is a Remarketing Segment?
A remarketing segment is a user segment created in Insider One that can be synchronized with supported ad platforms. These platforms match users using identifiers such as email address, phone number, or other supported attributes, enabling precise audience targeting.
Dynamic Segments in Insider One can include a wide range of data points, such as:
User behavior
Channel engagement data
Cross-platform attributes
Custom actions and events
This allows you to build highly granular and intent-driven audiences that go beyond the native targeting capabilities of ad platforms, resulting in more effective and cost-efficient remarketing.
Supported Ad Platforms
You can send Dynamic Segments to the following ad platforms:
Before creating an Ad Audience, each platform must be connected through Integration Settings.
Why use Remarketing Segments?
Remarketing Segments enable marketers to activate richer, behavior-based audiences across paid channels. This helps improve campaign efficiency while reducing unnecessary ad spend.
Key benefits include:
Activating precisely defined, high-quality audiences
Improving campaign performance using real user behavior data
Reducing advertising waste by excluding irrelevant or already converted users
Automatically syncing audience updates, including additions and removals
Use cases
Remarketing Segments are particularly effective in the following scenarios:
Lookalike audience creation
Share high-value user segments (such as frequent purchasers or loyal customers) to improve lookalike modeling.
Re-engagement of inactive users
Target users who have not visited your website or app recently.
Reaching users unresponsive to other channels
Engage users via ads when email, push, or messaging channels show low engagement.
Audience suppression
Exclude loyal or recently converted users to reduce ad spend and avoid overexposure.
Multi-channel targeting of high-value users
Reach priority audiences consistently across Google, Meta, TikTok, and other platforms.
Access requirements
To send Dynamic Segments to ad platforms, you must have one of the following access levels within Insider One:
Manage User
Edit & Publish
Collaborate
In addition, you must have admin-level permissions in the corresponding ad platform account (Google, Facebook (Meta), or TikTok). Without the required permissions, audience creation or synchronization may fail.
How Remarketing Segment synchronization works
Remarketing segments synchronize with supported advertising platforms daily at 00:00 UTC. User identifiers are securely hashed using SHA-256 before transmission, and users are added to or removed from advertising audiences based on whether they currently match the segment criteria.
Remarketing channels in Architect journeys, such as Facebook Custom Audiences (Meta), Google Ads send add or remove requests in real time. However, Meta may take 24–48 hours to process updates, while Google and TikTok typically take 6–12 hours and may take up to 48 hours.
