How do we use Gmail's “Manage Subscriptions”?

Prev Next

Gmail’s new Manage Subscriptions feature offers users a simplified way to manage bulk marketing emails by displaying how often certain senders contact them. With just one click, users can easily unsubscribe or block senders—all from a central.

To access this feature, go to Gmail > More > Manage subscriptions in the left sidebar. You’ll see a list of senders you’ve recently received emails from, along with the number of messages received. Unsubscribing via this list is quick and straightforward, and once completed, the unsubscribe status is also reflected within Insider panels.

This functionality is powered by the List-Unsubscribe header, which allows Gmail to process unsubscribe requests directly. This header can be implemented using either a mailto: or http: link. Insider automatically includes the List-Unsubscribe header when subscription tracking is enabled, ensuring that unsubscribe requests are handled seamlessly. When a user unsubscribes through Gmail’s Manage Subscriptions, SendGrid receives the request and adds the user to its Global Unsubscribe List. This ensures no further emails are sent to that user, even if they remain on a sender's list.

This Gmail feature is being rolled out gradually in the U.S. and may not yet be available to all users.
