FAQ about Mobile App Analytics

What is the difference between click-through and view-through?

Click-through reporting tracks user behavior after they click the message, either a push notification or an app template. It shows how many users opened the message and completed the goal within the configured click-through window.

View-through reporting tracks users who receive the message but do not click. If a user completes the goal within the defined view-through duration after receiving the push or app template, it is counted in view-through reporting. View-through always includes click-through data as a subset.

What happens if a user clicks a push notification and performs an event after the selected duration? Will it be counted under the click-through report?

Yes.

What happens if a user clicks on a push notification and performs an event within the selected duration period? Will it be counted under the click-through or the view-through report?

The event will be counted for both reports.

If a user makes 3 purchases within the selected duration period after receiving the push notification, how is the conversion counted?

If a user makes all purchases in one session, it is counted as one event. If the user makes three purchases in three different sessions within the selected duration, it is counted as three events.

Are users who did not allow receiving push notifications included in the push notification analytics?

No, disallowed users are not included in the deliverability analytics.

How is the Conversion Rate calculated? Is it calculated based on Open metrics or Delivered metrics?

It is calculated based on the Delivered metrics.

Why are the User Count and Impressions different in InApp results?

Impressions reflect how many times the InApp is seen, while User Count reflects how many unique users have seen the InApp. If frequency capping is not set to never, an InApp campaign can be shown multiple times to a single user. The difference occurs because of this.
