A new centralized and customizable way to manage unsubscribe messages is now available, offering greater flexibility and control within the SMS product.

With this update, you can now:

  • Manage multiple unsubscription methods from a single, centralized panel.

  • Customize unsubscription methods and unsubscription content visibility on a campaign level, giving you more control over tone, language, and compliance needs.

This improvement streamlines your unsubscription workflow, reduces operational overhead, and enables you to deliver more personalized, relevant opt-out experiences for your audience.

For more details, see the Multiple Unsubscription Methods Rules section below.

Why Unsubscription Methods Matter

According to SMS regulations in most countries, brands are required to provide an opt-out option to users when initiating an SMS message and define an opt-out process within the message, allowing users to easily unsubscribe.

The opt-out function is an action through which a user requests that they no longer want to receive messages from you.

While this is mandatory in many regions, some countries might have different requirements. To help you stay compliant and flexible, Insider offers several automated unsubscribe methods for SMS:

You can easily set up and manage these methods from your panel to keep your SMS campaigns effective and compliant.

All of these methods are automated ways to allow your users to unsubscribe from SMS. You only need to set up the appropriate unsubscribe method.

You can also upload SMS unsubscribers to Insider and manage them on your panel. For further information, refer to Managing SMS Global Unsubscribe.

Multiple Unsubscription Methods Rules

To help you get the most out of this new centralized feature, here are the key rules and limitations to keep in mind when managing multiple unsubscription methods:

  • You can save and manage up to 30 different unsubscription methods directly in your panel.

  • Unsubscribe keywords can be customized in multiple languages to better match your audience's preferences and regional needs.

  • During campaign creation, you can set different unsubscription preferences per campaign to align with your goals.

  • You can choose to show or hide the opt-out keyword in your SMS content. Regardless of visibility, the system will still process any replies with an opt-out keyword automatically.

  • If you're using a Shared Short Code, ensure you use a unique keyword to avoid conflicts with other senders.

  • Each keyword must be between 1 and 34 characters in length.
