Campaigns

Q: Can I configure the pages where InApps are to be displayed?
A: Yes, you can. If you want to show the InApp on a different page or after a specific action, you need to implement an event and pass that event to Insider.

Q: Can I set different deep link values on buttons for each variant of an A/B test?
A: Yes, you can set different deep links on different buttons for each variant of an A/B test.

Q: Can I make the InApp background or button colors transparent?
A: No, there is currently no transparent option in the color palette.

Q: While testing, the InApp is shown on the main screen even if I configure the rule to be triggered after a specific event (e.g. after a user makes a purchase). What could be the reason for that?
A: When the campaign is launched, the InApp will be triggered after the desired event is performed and it will be shown on that specific page. You cannot test the rules while sending a test InApp. Only the design and the appearance can be tested.

Q: How does Tag Event work?
A: Tag Event allows you to tag (trigger) an event when that button is clicked. This event doesn’t have to be predefined. These events can be used for segmentation later on. When you’re entering the event name, you need to make sure the event name consists of only English characters, and is lowercase and underscored instead of a space.

Q: When I send a test InApp with a dynamic coupon code, I see {coupon} instead of the real value. Did I do something wrong?
A: No, there is nothing wrong. If you see the InApp with {coupon}, it means that the coupon codes are successfully uploaded. In order not to consume the unique coupon codes, we show the {coupon} expression for the InApp testing.

Q: Can I add a static coupon code to the InApps and let users copy the coupon and use it?
A: Yes, you can. You can use single coupon codes in your app templates following Coupon Management on App Templates.

Q: What happens after the coupon codes are finished?
A: The InApp campaign will automatically stop working. Additionally, the InApp from pushes will also stop.

Q: Is there any character limit for the title or description?
A: No, there is no such limitation. However, you need to adjust the length of the message and the description in order to make them visible. It is strongly recommended to send a test InApp before launching the campaign.

Q: Why do I see a cropped image in an InApp banner when testing it?
A: This might be a device-specific issue. Android and iOS don't have any standard screen resolutions. However, a safe zone is shared on the panel to avoid such issues. You may also wish to design the images for devices with small screen sizes, where generally any text content on the design is centrally positioned.

Q: What is the recommended format for the unique coupon codes?
A: Coupon codes should be created in CSV format with only one unique coupon code in each row. Refer to Coupon Management for further details.

Q: What is the size of an InApp button?
A: There is no specific size but it nearly covers 9% of the full screen on average.

Q: As an app marketer, I want to run iOS native rating popup to optimize app store position. How can I do that?
A: Insider does not have a native feature to trigger iOS native rating pop-up. However, you can generate a deep link that can trigger the native popup and add it on an InApp button for users to see upon click.

Q: What is the difference between Push Permission and Open Settings?
A: Push permission allows the app owner to trigger a native push permission popup on iOS. You can prompt each user only once with this popup. If a user clicks it multiple times, no popup will be prompted again. You can set the re-eligibility to Never to create a campaign a user will see only once, and redirect users to a page where you can ask them if they want to opt in for push notifications.

Open Settings option opens the settings page of the app. Unlike push permission, it can be triggered multiple times. If a user opens their app settings via this option, they can configure their app notification details and settings, consent for cameras, microphone, etc. You can ask your users for permissions via an inApp and redirect them to the settings page.

Q: How can we ask users to rate our app?
A: The InApp buttons have different use cases. The Feedback button opens the default app rating prompt on the application. Apple allows applications to display the app rating prompt to their users up to 3 times in 365 days while Google also suggests against excessive usage of app rating prompt.

Conditions

Q: Can I set the frequency level of InApps to be displayed?
A: Yes, you can set the re-eligibility duration option to set this. Re-eligibility duration helps you limit the number of times a user will see an InApp campaign in a certain period of time. You can set the re-eligibility duration in minutes, hours, or days (up to 30). If you set the re-eligibility duration to Never, a user will only see the InApp campaign once. Re-eligibility duration is campaign-specific. The Re-eligibility duration of one campaign will not affect another.

Q: What does Priority mean?
A: Priority determines which InApp will be displayed in the first place. The lower the number, the higher the priority. Value "1" represents the most important InApp which will be prioritized and displayed first.

Q: How and when do the InApps disappear?
A: InApps disappear when the user clicks on the close button or taps on any space on the screen.

Analytics

Q: What is the reporting logic for In-App for collecting conversion?
A: Insider tracks user action throughout a session after displaying an InApp. Regardless user clicks the button on the InApp or not, if in that session the user performed the goal, it will reflect as a conversion on the campaign report.

Q: Can I see which coupon codes are/not used on the panel?
A: No, as the usage of coupon codes is not tracked, this information cannot be provided.
