# Use A/B Split in Journeys

You can use A/B Split in your journeys to compare channels, contents, and paths and see which option performs best.

Follow the instructions below to add and use A/B Split in your journeys:

1. Click the **+ (plus)** button to select the **A/B Split** element.![](https://cdn.document360.io/c6df4583-da94-4cb2-bb8a-be0cbdd11109/Images/Documentation/image-1698324668520.png)
2. Under User Allocation, you can set the allocation percentages for each path.

To distribute the allocation evenly across paths, click the checkbox next to **Distribute user allocation equally across paths**. Once you select the checkbox, the allocation percentages will be automatically adjusted to divide the users evenly across all paths.

Note that once you select the checkbox, you won't be able to manually edit the allocation percentages. While the checkbox is selected, you can click the **Add Path** button to add **up to 4 paths, or delete the paths you added; the allocation will then** be re-adjusted. You can also rename the paths.![](https://cdn.document360.io/c6df4583-da94-4cb2-bb8a-be0cbdd11109/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%20at%20Jun%2012%2017-23-18.png)

You can also allocate a percentage to the [control group](https://academy.insiderone.com/docs/ab-split-control-group) users.

You can keep the re-eligible users on the same A/B Split path when they enter the journey again and reach the A/B Split element.

Enable the [winner autoselection](/docs/ab-split-winner-autoselection) or keep it disabled based on your needs. Then **S****ave** the element.

5. When you add channels to the A/B Split element and launch your journey, it will automatically divide your audience who arrives at the element into these paths you created in real time.

your title goes here

- The percentage allocations should sum to **100%**.
- A/B Split can **not** be used as the last element of the journey.

After the winner path is defined, you can see the path highlighted as the winner path on the canvas. Also, the winner path is mentioned on the live stats of the A/B split element.
