When enabled, it automatically applies the correct US federal and state-level quiet-hour rules to every promotional SMS sent to a US recipient, based on the recipient's resolved location, without requiring manual Silent Hours configuration. ## How do US State-Level Silent Hours apply? - Applies the federal TCPA baseline to any US state without a specific rule. - Applies a stricter, state-specific quiet-hour window for the states listed in the reference table below, including day-of-week variations (for example, Texas) and full Sunday sending bans in several states. - Resolves each recipient's state from their Insider One user attributes first. If no attribute is available, it falls back to the area code of the recipient's phone number. - Applies to promotional sends only. Transactional messages, opt-in/opt-out confirmations, and STOP/HELP/START compliance keyword responses are always sent, regardless of this setting. ## Who can use US State-Level Silent Hours? - US-focused brands and retailers sending promotional SMS to US subscribers. - Enterprise marketers managing multi-state US SMS lists with zero tolerance for compliance violations. - Teams onboarding to the US market. ## Enable US State-Level Silent Hours 1. US State-Level Silent Hours is off by default. Select **Enable US State-Level Silent Hours** below the Silent Hours start and end time fields. 5. Click **Save**. The change applies from the next send onward for this sender only. > [!WARNING] > US State-Level Silent Hours sets a compliance floor, not a ceiling. If you already have a manually configured Silent Hours window that is more restrictive than a given state's rule, your manual window still applies for that send. ## US state-level silent hour windows The following table lists the quiet-hour windows for states with a specific rule.
