# Standard Segments: Location

The Location segment determines a user’s location based on the IP address their device last used. An IP address is assigned by the internet access point and can be pinpointed to a general area. The last known IP helps locate the user’s device for targeted campaigns.

## Requirements

To use the Location segment:

- [Web Suite](/v1/docs/web-suite-overview): Location information is collected automatically by default
- [Mobile App Suite](/v1/docs/app-templates): Each app must submit location tracking permission to Google and Apple. Once approved, Insider One can automatically retrieve the user’s location

## How to configure the Location segment

You can segment users by:

- **City**: Select one or more cities where the user was last located.
- **Country**: Select one or more countries where the user was last located.
