# Predefined Segments: User Sign-Up

The User Sign-Up segment targets users based on whether they signed up or did not sign up for your website within a defined period. This allows you to:

- Engage newly registered users with welcome or onboarding campaigns.
- Re-target non-registered visitors with sign-up promotions or reminders.

## Requirement

To use the User Sign-Up segment, the Sign-Up [event](/v1/docs/default-events) must be enabled in your system.

## Platform scope

You can target users only based on their behavior on the **web** platform.
