Attributes and Events: Use Cases

Prev Next

You can use your Default and Custom Events, Event Parameters, and Attributes in various strategies. You can see some example cases below:

Use cases for Events

Based on your events and event parameters, you can target the following groups of users:

  • Users who purchased black sneakers.

  • Users who purchased at least 200 USD.

  • Users who added products from a specific brand to their cart in the last 3 months.

  • Users who opened your email last month.

In addition to these use cases, you can create Custom Events with parameters to track any information you want about your users, within the limits of your account, and use them in your cases.

Use cases for Event Parameters

You can use event parameters to achieve complex segmentation use cases by applying advanced filtering to events. For example:

  • You can segment users who completed an Add to Cart event. Then, you can refine the segment to target only users who added products with specific values in their names by selecting the relevant Product Name event parameter as a filter.

  • You can target users who completed an Email Open event. Then, you can refine your selection by segmenting users who opened the email from a specific Campaign, using the relevant Campaign ID or Campaign Name as the event parameter filter.

In addition to these use cases, you can create Custom Event Parameters, connect them to the events you need, within the limits of your account, and use them for your own use cases.

Use cases for Attributes

Based on the scope of your Attributes, you can create advanced segmentation groups as follows:

  • You can use the name attribute to personalize your messages and increase their engagement.

  • You can create a campaign targeting female users whose last visited category is sportswear.

  • Using the city attribute, you can create location-specific campaigns that target visitors to your website from a specific region.

In addition to these use cases, you can create Custom Attributes to track any information you want about your users, within your account limits, and use them in your campaigns.
